I have worked for Evolution Childcare for over 13 years working at each of the 4 nurseries mainly based at Kalgarth and The Stables. I started at Kalgarth as a Childcare Practitioner in 2005 working in the Early Learner Room. I went on to complete my NVQ level 3 in early years childcare in 2007 and shortly after that was promoted to a Room Manager at The Stables. I have worked in every room within both settings giving me a wide understanding of the curriculum across all ages. Since starting at Evolution Childcare I have received extensive internal training which has provided me with the knowledge and understanding of how different children learn and develop. During my time with the company I have received qualifications in first aid, safeguarding, equality and diversity and food hygiene.
I became promoted to Assistant Manager in October 2013 during this time I became involved in staff training providing staff the support that they needed within their own job roles. I have worked closely with each manager within the group in order to obtain knowledge of different management styles. In October 2015 I was further promoted to Nursery Manager of The Abbey Nursery School in Weaverham. My time at The Abbey was quite short but I was able to learn a great deal about marketing strategies and the tools needed to open a brand new nursery. I am currently Manager at The Willows Nursery School where I am working alongside a great team and I hope to help them all to progress with their own childcare journeys!
I began working at Willows Nursery School in 2004 only months after they opened, I began in the Toddler Room as a childcare practitioner. Over the years I have been based in all rooms, being a senior in the Baby and Toddler Room. Having this experience helped me to gain the knowledge required to progress onto the role of Assistant Deputy Manager and then more recently Assistant Manager.
In my new role I am based within all rooms working with the teams to help to enhance their learning environments and to create the best possible place for the children in our care. I hold a Foundation Degree in Early Years, I am Paediatric trained and also First Aid at work trained. I have an up to date food safety and child protection certificate also.
I gained my BTEC National Certificate in Childcare at college before staring at Willows Nursery School. I have worked at Evolution Childcare for 4 and a half years, working in the Toddler and Reception Rooms, before being promoted to Senior Practitioner last year. I am currently based within the Baby Room and am Assistant Deputy Manager.
During my time at Evolution Childcare I have completed many other qualifications, including Team Leadership and Equality and Diversity. I currently hold certificates for Food Hygiene and Paediatric First Aid and have also gained my Early Years Degree.
In 2016 I gained my Children, Play, Learning & Development qualification with Priestly College. During my training I was able to gain experience working with children of all abilities and ages. I joined The Willows on a student placement working within the Baby and Toddler room. Working alongside the team I enhanced my learning and gained experience that supported me in completing my qualification.
I officially joined the team in September 2016. Over the years I have worked in the Babies, Toddlers and Early Learners rooms to enable me to develop my skills and knowledge. I have attended many short coursers to further support my own personal development and hold a current paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene certificates. I have recently been promoted to Room Manager in our Toddler room and I look forward to developing my carer and supporting my team members to provide a caring nursery environment with the support of my management team. I look forward to developing my career further with Evolution Childcare.
During my childcare career, I have worked in private day nurseries mainly with children 3-5 years of age. I joined Evolution Childcare The Willows in May 2010 as a childcare practitioner and was promoted to Room Manager of Reception in 2012. Over the years I have gained experience and qualifications to support my role in education & learning environments, and in my own personal development I have completed a team leadership qualification. I have true passion to provide a fun, caring and educational environment for all children in my care to help them develop to the best of their abilities. With my team we support children and families as they make the transition to primary school. I have a BTEC qualification in childcare, I am paediatric first aid trained and have up-to-date safeguarding and food safety certificates.
I am currently our nursery SEN co-ordinator at The Willows, and over the years I have gained both experience and qualifications for working with children who need additional support. This gives me the ability to adapt my skills to work with a variety of children and families to enhance their learning and development.
